Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag has hit back at Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino’s claims over fairness by telling him: ‘You just have to deal with them.’
Pochettino does not like the fact the Dutch FA decided to postpone all Eredivisie games at the weekend ahead of their Tuesday Champions League semi-final.
Ajax were due to face De Graafschap on Sunday afternoon, while Spurs played West Ham on Saturday lunchtime, losing 1-0 and they will be without a host of key players for tonight, including Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane.
“The reality is they are going to have more time to prepare and avoid risk,” Pochettino said.

When you play Saturday and then Tuesday, the concentration and effort is massive. They are going to avoid risks that we take,†Pochettino said.
“It’s not a complaint. Only that it is not fair. I don’t want to create a polemic, only that playing a Champions League semi-final, both teams must have the same time to prepare.â€
However Pochettino will be getting no sympathy from Ten Hag, with the Dutchman playing down suggestions his side will be the favourites.
“We get €10 million for playing in Eredivisie and they get many more millions for being in the Premier League,†he said.
“Is that not unfair on us? There are always differing circumstances.
“Everybody has different circumstances. You just have to deal with them. That’s what we do.â€
Ajax have beaten Real Madrid and Juventus en route to this stage of the competition and should they overcome Spurs, it will be the first time a Dutch side has reached the final since 1996, when they were beaten 4-2 on penalties by Juventus.
