Brentford have confirmed a fan was arrested for the alleged racial abuse of Derby player Duane Holmes during the 3-3 draw at Griffin Park.
Rams boss Frank Lampard said the 24-year-old midfielder reported the incident after Brentford equalised in the 83rd minute.
The Bees released a statement condemning ‘discrimination of any kind’ and will ‘continue to liaise with police’, who are now investigating.
The club said: “The man in question has been accused of committing a racially-aggravated public order offence in the later stages of today’s game.
“He was identified at the time, removed from the ground and subsequently arrested.

“The club utterly condemns discrimination of any kind. It is abhorrent and has no place in society and we are determined to drive it out of Griffin Park.
“The most severe sanctions will be imposed on any individual convicted of discrimination and we will await the result of the Police investigation before commenting further.”
When asked about the incident in his post-match press conference, Lampard said: “Duane Holmes was abused, as he said, at close quarters at the side of the dugout when Brentford scored their third goal.
“The man accused of abusing him I think has been taken by the Police, and spoken to.
“Obviously, Duane is upset with the situation.”
Meanwhile, Wigan claim defender Nathan Byrne was racially abused on Twitter after their 2-2 draw with Bristol City.
The incident has been reported to the police.
