Virgil van Dijk reportedly wants to sign a new contract with Liverpool.
The defender is 18 months into the five-and-a-half year deal he signed with the club following his £75million move from Southampton last year.
ESPN FC claim that the 27-year-old wants to further underline his commitment to the club by signing another new deal – surpassing the length of his current deal.
Van Dijk is understood to have made that known to club officials prior to their 2-0 win against Tottenham in the Champions League final.
Neither the club nor the player’s representatives appear in too much of a rush and are said to be relaxed about the whole process.
