Fabian Schar suffered a sickening head collision injury on international duty for Switzerland, but was amazingly allowed to carry on playing.
Despite getting knocked clean out, the Newcastle United defender was able to play on during the Euro 2020 qualifier in Georgia.
Schar was out cold before he even hit the floor on Saturday after smacking heads with Jemal Tabidze.
The 27-year-old’s legs buckled underneath him as he sank to the turf, with concerned teammates and medics racing to his aid to put him in the recovery position.
Schar lay motionless with his arms wide out, leading to players from both sides rushing to his aid to check he had not swallowed his tongue.
They rolled the centre-back into the recovery position by the time team medics had rushed out onto the pitch in Tblisi.
After a worrying four minutes, Schar thankfully rose to his feet and was able to play on.
Tabidze was left bloodied and bruised after the collision, with the physios bandaging the Georgian up before he too was able to continue.
Despite both men appearing to be fine, the blatant ignoring of the concussion protocols by Premier League ref Craig Pawson letting Schar carry on was worrying.
