Real Madrid are expected to break the bank in the summer.
Bernebeu chief Zinedine Zidane is reportedly set to be handed an eye-watering £430million to splash the cash on some of the world’s finest footballers.
Los Blancos have had a nightmare season; they sit 13 points behind bitter rivals Barcelona in LaLiga and their dominance in the Champions League was put to an end by Ajax.
After being drafted back in as manager in March, Zidane is certain to lead a massive overhaul of his current crop of players and he has wasted no time in the rebuilding process having already signed Porto defender Eder Militao.
But which other stars could be on their way to Real? talkSPORT.com has browsed the latest transfer gossip and identified Zidane’s potential line-up for next season.
LATEST FOOTBALL NEWS
Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
Perhaps the most inevitable transfer to take place appears to be Chelsea star Eden Hazard’s move to Real Madrid.
The Belgian’s long-anticipated transfer to Los Blancos is seemingly edging closer by the day following the return of Zidane.
Hazard, 28, has always idolised Zidane and has admitted that he ‘dreams’ of a move to the Bernabeu.
The Blues winger has been stalling on signing a new contract with the west London club, with his current deal up at the end of next season and Chelsea have reportedly placed a £100million price tag on their talisman’s head.
The Telegraph are now reporting Hazard will refuse to sign a new contract even if the west London club play hardball with the LaLiga giants to get them to pay the desired fee.
So Chelsea will most likely cash in on their talisman to avoid the risk of losing him to a Premier League rival.
Paul Pogba (Manchester United)
Another player who may well be on his way to Real Madrid is Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman recently flirted with speculation linking him with a move to the Spanish capital, claiming playing for the European champions is ‘a dream for anyone’.
And the Old Trafford club are reportedly facing a battle to keep him and David de Gea at the club, with the pair demanding huge contracts due to the threat of a pay cut next season.
The midfielder’s relationship with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be ‘deteriorating’, leading to more speculation of a move away in the summer, and many of the United fan base are growing frustrated with the midfielder for his inconsistency.
The Red Devils may be willing to cash in on the midfielder in order to fund Solskjaer’s squad overhaul in the summer.
Sadio Mane (Liverpool)
Another target for Real Madrid is Liverpool star Sadio Mane.
The Senegalese has been superb this season, netting 19 goals and deservedly earning a nomination for the PFA Player of the Year award.
His performances have been so good they have caught the eye of Zidane, who has reportedly already made enquiries for the forward.
Mane explained he wants to become a Liverpool legend, so he is saying all the right things, but then the chance to play for Real Madrid – if the club did make an offer – does not come around all the time.
Luka Jovic (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Another player who has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid is Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic.
With 17 goals from 27 matches in the Bundesliga, Jovic’s performances are earning him recognition from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Real are reportedly close to an agreement for the striker, who joined Frankfurt from Benfica permanently after the German club triggered his €6million buy option.
However, other top clubs are interested in his signature, including Chelsea and Barcelona, though the player himself reportedly favours a move to the Spanish capital.
