Tottenham new stadium latest: Spurs fans worried ticket prices at White Hart Lane will be too expensive after ‘sharp increase’

The Tottenham Supporters’ Trust is concerned fans could be priced out of attending matches at their new £850 million stadium.

Spurs announced a freeze on the cost of all season tickets at the 62,062-seater arena, which is due to open against Crystal Palace on April 3.

However, most match tickets are at least £10 more expensive than they were to watch Spurs play at Wembley.

At the home of the national stadium the highest-priced seats for Category A games pitched at £98, but that will not be the case when Spurs move into their new home.

Category B and C are also 30 to 50 per cent more expensive than they were at the old White Hart Lane.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side men are set to play their final five league games of the season at their new home, as well as their mouthwatering Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash against Man City.

For Category A matches tickets at the new stadium start from £52, while B spans from £43 to £95 and C £30 to £80.

A Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust expressed their frustration in a statement, saying: “Our main concern is increases in Category B and C pricing will make access to those games very difficult once the novelty of the new stadium has worn off.

“The club argue prices are not comparable, but fans’ pay packets are comparable, and this is a sharp increase in a little over two seasons.”

It continues an unwanted statistic for the Barcelona and Uruguay striker, who leaves Old Trafford having failed to score an away goal in the Champions League in 1,303 days or 1,601 minutes. Suarez's last Champions League away goal came in a 1-1 draw with Roma in September 2015.
