Paul Merson believes Chelsea should have replaced manager Maurizio Sarri with Brendan Rodgers at the end of the season.
Rodgers left Celtic to join the Foxes in February and has won five of his first eight Premier League matches in charge.
Sarri has endured a difficult debut season in England with his football coming under-fire from Chelsea fans.
And Merson, who made 429 appearances for Arsenal between 1985 and 1997, says Chelsea should have promised Rodgers the job in the summer.
He told Sky Sports: “I don’t know how, when Leicester went for Brendan Rodgers, that someone at Chelsea didn’t ring him and say ‘just wait, just wait six months’ because I can’t see Sarri being there because the fans just aren’t having it.
