Christian Eriksen has confirmed he wants to leave Tottenham.
The Danish playmaker is out contract in 2020 and says he is keen to agree a move away this summer.
“I feel that I am a place in my career where I might want to try something new,” he told Ekstra Bladet in his homeland.
“I have the wildest and deepest respect for everything that has happened at Tottenham – I will not be negative. But I have also said that I would like to try something new.
“I hope there will be a resolution during the summer. That’s the plan.
“In football you do not know when a resolution will happen. It can happen anytime. Everyone wants the best to it to happen as soon as possible, but in football takes things time.”

He has not ruled out staying at the north London club but is hopeful of an agreement for him to move on being reached.

He said: “It depends on Daniel Levy. And another club has to come in. Or I’ll have to sit down at the table and negotiate a new contract. You can’t set a date yourself.
“There are not many points that Tottenham cannot meet. If I have to go, then hopefully it will be a step up.”
On a potential move to the Bernabeu, Eriksen added: “It requires Real Madrid to call Tottenham and say they want Christian. And they have not done so yet, as far as I know.
“It is hard. It depends on the possibilities. If nothing pops up that is more exciting, then why not stay in Tottenham? If I then sign a new contract, it depends on the conditions.”
Real Madrid have already wrapped up deals for Eder Militao and Luka Jovic, while Rodrygo Goes will also move to the Spanish capital this summer having secured his signature last year.
They are also hoping to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea, though the latest reports claim negotiations between the two clubs have broken down over an inability to agree a transfer fee.
